20/20 GONE AT DAWN

GONE AT DAWN examines the abduction of Jodi Huisentruit, a popular 27-year-old news anchor who vanished in Mason City, IA., in June 1995. Huisentruit had become a familiar face to north Iowans, her bubbly personality livening up morning TV screens, until she was taken from outside her apartmentin the pre-dawn hours. While police investigators on the scene found her personal belongs, evidence of a struggle and drag marks near Jodi’s bright red car, her final whereabouts remain unknown more than 25 years later.

20/20 is ABC Television’s award-winning current affair/true-crime documentary series. On this tragic story of a still missing news anchor, I came on board as Producer, familiarising myself with some extensive existing interview material and began to put the material together into a script. I also gained access to a local police department, relatives and investigators, set up and directed pick-up shoots and oversaw post through final delivery (the latter while battling a bout of Covid!)
